yea LSA will do. just keep it simple we don't any tounge twisters. i can see where your coming from with the parkour idea as it would be nice to invole other less known extrem sports but i don't see how it would be possible. So far i'v only been able to attened 1 of the meets as i've had other responsibilities. mayby a sperate area next to the park would be more of an idea as this would allow obsticales that are more to do with your sport. i'm not saying it shouldn't be involved but it needs to be thought over a bit more after all this is a skatepark project. --Last edited by Tyler on 2007-11-06 19:33:07 -- |

Yes I agree Perhaps something more generic and inclusive tho? I know that it doesn't hit the nail on the head for us, but the Coleshill project called themselves the Tamworth Wheeled Sports Club to include bmx, trials, inline, skaters etc. I can't think of anything tho. ![]()

LSA is used by London School of Art for their vases and other arty-farty wares http://www.lsa-international.com/I like the LFA thang of TJ's Peronally, I can't stand the phrase 'Extreme Sports' How about Loughborough Skateboards BMX Inline Trials Parkour Climbing Scooters Mountainbikes Or LSBITPCM for short? Has a ring to it I think Shall I get the Tee Shirts made? |

LUSP was loughborough urban sports project (not park) as the park is the aim of the project |

Yeah I don't like the extreme sports tag either, just trying to get the creative juices flowing. Also, I don't really regard Skateboarding or BMX as a purely 'urban' sport, they both have many more aspects to them. I find 'urban' a very limiting concept to our 'sports' when many of us regard them as freeform expression, urban or not. It appeared to me from the last meeting that we maybee looking to change both the name of the park and the name of our fundraising group. If so would that mean a domain change for both the website and the forum?

>>If so would that mean a domain change for both the website and the forum? I guess it would yes.... A domain name costs about £15.... I've got no problem sorting that out...£15 and 10mins work.... Not sure the forum could be moved though.... I bet you lose all the posts! Maybe best to leave it alone??? |

Yes, i think that is should be like " Loughborough Urban park (or other names than "park") as i suggested at the meeting, i feel that this a good name because it does not just suggest/say that it is just for a skatepark. |

I like the urban park idea, it implys that the park is for more than just skateboarding (trials, pk, etc). We want it to apeel to all people.

How about Loughborough Street Sports Site? or the LSSS07? I think it important to have a fund group name and name of the park. Also past the park production i guess we hope to stage local comps their or mantain on hosting on the site too the public plus additions to the park. I understand that the park hosts events and live music with food, be great too form a society alongside it hosting events. --Last edited by brake on 2007-11-26 19:25:02 -- |

Posted 23/11/2007 08:48:12 PM by .ant b. Details of 22nd November 2007 Meeting
The name of 'Loughborough Skatepark Association gained majority vote as the official name to front our group. FlowFlys and other non "skaters" shouldn't be discouraged by this name. The name doesn't compromise the prospects of a multi-purpose area. It simply highlights the fact that the group has been set up to renovate the existing skatepark. The name will be used to set up the bank account and will be used on formal documents as a name for our group. It was also agreed that the covering letter/250 word statement needs to be finished by next week so we can start to apply for grants. The bank account will be set up tomorrow. We need to start fund raising asap. We will be doing tee shirts and other clothing through spredshirt.net which we now have an account for. We need names of bands and contact details to start arranging the gig. All other fund raising ideas are VERY welcome! --Last edited by fairygirl on 2007-11-29 23:38:26 -- |
