Ok have a look at this

http://www.veoliatrust.org/index.php

Basically, Veolia operate the Quarry at Mountsorrel...

Good news is that we are within 5 miles and qualify for potential funding under their Cat D

Funding is upto £150K..... you need 20% upfront

Sooooooo..... we could, in theory, apply for funding up to their full amount...

I spoke at length to them.... next funding date is Feb 2008

I will start the ball rolling after our next meeting

Here is the process http://www.veoliatrust.org/index.php?fuseaction=About.apply

Basically, its kind of a 'one shot' deal... i.e you need to wait 12 months before trying again, so its important to be professional about the application

Excellent,http://www.aceboard.net/kator/smiley099.abgif  they certainly look like they are the peeps to help us and our project!! nice comprehensive site aswell,
I agree that our application should be proffessional, we should be sure to have all "our" documents in place before applying.
We are working on the Health & Safety Policy, & Child Protection Policy at the mo, and tonight hopefully we can discuss what else we will need to accompany applications,
Nice work Joolz

I got my mum to have a word with people at her place (Astra Zeneca). Apparently they regularly give out large sums of money to local organisations/groups. And as she's been working with them over 20 years now, she might be in a position to have quite an influence on where the money goes to. I'll keep you posted.

Veolia do the bins and recycling for loughborough, so will already be fairly well affiliated with the charnwood council, whether or not this makes it a more likely source of funding im not sure, but it could be.

Just to say that we have passed stage 2 of the funding...

The wording that Helen did, obviously did the trick

Veolia have sent a couple of forms that comprise the formal bid for money...

I will get them to Colin this week (I am away next week so can't attend the next meeting)

The form will need a lot of work.... I guess we should split the tasks up.

Very important to get this right methinks

Anyway, great news

J
